Are the wedges used to keep babies on their side safe in preventing SIDS? |
|
| |
 |
We know that a lot of parents use commercial wedges and other
devices to keep their infants on their back, but neither American Academy of Pediatrics
(AAP), the National Institute of Child Health and Human
Development (NICHD), the Association of SIDS and Infant Mortality
Programs, or the SIDS Alliance (a SIDS parent organization) endorse them. The
reason for this is that there have been no studies to show that they
are either effective or safe. |
