At what age do you start to implement the "time out' concept?

Time-outs work very well with children beginning at about age 18 months - two years. However, they are done slightly different for toddlers than for preschoolers, and differently still for school-age children. Time-out is easy to understand in sports--it is a brief interruption of the action. In discipline, it is a brief (you hope) interruption of your child's disruptive behavior.
