Should schools "profile" all students to identify those who may become violent?
Yes: No:

Quick reference medical handouts used by Pediatric offices

I have begun to wean my 11-month old off formula, but my new pediatrician doesn't think I should be weaning yet. I also introduced a cup, but she said I should stay on the bottle until 18 months so that he drinks a minimum of 16-20 ounces of formula per day. He is 26 1/2 lbs and appears healthy. I am not sure what to do in this situation.

You are quickly finding out that every pediatrician has their own way of doing thingsm and so do we!

The American Academy of Pediatrics strongly recommends the use of infant formula for the first 12 months of age. Therefore, we would suggest that you keep your son on formula for another month.

After six months, the amount of formula a baby consumes decreases, due to the introduction of solid foods and the fact that their growth rate begins to slow. Again, we would like to emphasize that it is not the amount of formula your so drinks that should concern you but his general health and growth.

Perhaps your pediatrician has a reason why your son should still be on the bottle until 18 months, but we would recommend that you wean him to as cup by one year of age. After that time, bottle feeding will definitely affect his teeth - another reason to wean to a cup.

Use your motherly insticts - they seem to be right on target!
