Should schools "profile" all students to identify those who may become violent?
Yes: No:

How many hours sleep should a 6-7 year old be getting a night? Our daughter goes to bed at 8:00 and is asleep by 8:15 however, she wakes up between 5:30 and 6:00 AM. Does she only require 10 hours of sleep a night and should we move her bed time back until 9:00? We also have a 2 year old who is sleeping about 10 hours at night and taking a 2-3 hour nap at mid day (usually 11-2) is this normal? (My wife enjoys the break) Thank you for your efforts.

As a child gets older, the amount of sleep they require becomes less. For example, the newborn infant sleeps about 16-18 hours per day. By one year of age, the total amount of sleep drops to about 14 hours per day. Between the ages of 3 and 5, the total amount of sleep gradually declines to about ten to twelve hours. By your daughter's age, the total amount of sleep declines to less than ten hours per day. Therefore, your child is getting the average amount of sleep in a 24 hour period.

You might try letting her stay up longer and see if that helps her sleep a little later in the morning. Your 2 year old son appears to be getting the correct amount of sleep for his age.

Thanks for your question.
