What are the best vegetables to start my 6-month-old on? Are there any vegetables that I should stay away from?
    
First of all make sure that your 6-month-old is on a regular eating schedule. Offer solids three times a day at normal meal times with bottles given 4-5 feedings a day separate from the solid food meals. Try to limit the milk to 26-32 ounces per day if taking formula. If it is taking all day to feed bottles, the baby may not ever feel hungry for solids. You can also puree or grind more table foods to give variety and flavor. Offer the sippy cup with meals.

Keep meal time happy. Encourage the baby to hold his/her spoon while you try to feed with a different spoon. Give finger foods. Infants this age want more control over their eating.

If feeding difficulties continue then discuss with your pediatrician. The pediatrician can give other suggestions or may refer you to a pediatric dietitian or feeding specialist.
